Scientific studies have shown that rock salt lamps can increase the negative ion count by up to 300% and excessive negative ions are essential for a positive mood and high energy. When warmed by the globe the rock salt generates a stream of negative ions which improves the air quality.
Televisions, radios, computers, microwaves, transmitters all produce positive ions. Placing a Rock Salt Lamp nearby produces the negative ions required for good health. Using one at work will help to make you feel more energised.
Working under bright artificial light can make you feel tired, however the negative ions created by your lamp, balance this energy making you fell rejuvenated and energised.
Himalayan Rock Salt Lampsare also beneficial for people effected by arthritis, asthma, stress, insomnia, aches, fatigue, tiredness, migraines, headaches, hormonal imbalance, attention deficit disorder and poor concentration.
It is safe and beneficial to leave your lamp on at all times.
Care of your lamp:
To clean your Himalayan Rock Salt lamp just wipe gently with a damp cloth. Do not use a soaking cloth as this will begin to dissolve it.
If you live in a humid area place your lamp in a plastic bag when it is turned off so it will not absorb the moisture in the air.
Over the years we have often been asked about selecting the right stone as a gift, or to celebrate a particular milestone such as an anniversary or a birthday. As always our first response is to go with a stone that has caught your attention, especially when it is accompanied by a strong gut feeling that it is the right one.
However some prefer to match their selection with a recognised list. In our booklet ‘An Introduction to Crystals and Healing stones’ there is a list for birthstones, astrological or zodiac signs, and general anniversary stones which can be quite helpful when making a selection. After consultation with colleagues we are presenting an amended list of Zodiac or Star Sign Stones in this newsletter. We believe this to be a more representative list and compatible with most of the lists out there.
Angelite or Blue Anhydrite is a fairly new discovery in the crystal, gem and mineral world. Discovered in 1987 in Peru, during the Harmonic Conversion, Angelite (CaSO4) is a solid pale blue form of calcium sulphate or “anhydrite”, which is gypsum that has lost water and crystallized. It sometimes shows traces of white calcium. It is in the orthorhombic crystal system.
Angelite is a variety of Anhydrite which is a relatively common sedimentary mineral that forms massive rock layers. It does not form directly, but is the result of the dewatering of the rock forming mineral gypsum. Distinctly developed crystals are somewhat rare, with Angelite usually presenting the form of cleavage masses. It is a soft stone which will convert back into gypsum if immersed in water, so do not wear it while bathing or swimming.
Angelite is a ‘stone of awareness’ for the New Age. It raises the state of conscious awareness. It represents peace and brotherhood. Angelite facilitates contact with your angels and spirit guides and also helps to connect with your higher self. It enhances psychic healing and telepathic communication and enables astral travel and spirit journeys whilst maintaining contact with reality.
This stone is excellent at balancing, polarizing and aligning the physical body with the Aura or ethereal network. Angelite enhances astrological understanding and brings deeper understanding of mathematics. It is a very calming stone with its particular shade of blue refreshing the eyes and spirit. It helps us to be in touch with angels and animal guides, as well as assisting in psychic communication with others, and is utilized for heightened sensory awareness. Angelite helps us to see the ways to surmount challenges. It renews our connection with Universal knowledge and raises awareness.

Many people wear jewellery. It’s always been fashionable, though the type of jewellery has changed throughout the years, along with fashion trends. With crystals, however, you need never be caught in a “fashion trap” – there is no such thing as a time warp where crystal fashion and accessorizing is concerned, and the more you create and wear or display your creations, the more ideas you will come up with simply because you are exposing yourself to the powerful yet natural emission of energy of all those crystals!
Here are some great ideas to “wear” or use crystals on an everyday basis – not every occasion has to be solemn and ritualistic; in fact, crystal wisdom dictates that we ought to have fun with the energies our beloved, beautiful crystals bring to us – and, of course, just in case you, someone you know, or a certain situation needs a healing, you’ll be ready to lend a helping hand or gentle touch with your crystals.
Incense has probably been around as long as man has been using fire, and it is still quite popular today. Burning incense is an enjoyable experience, whether it is done for spiritual purposes, or just to make your environment smell fresh, clean and inviting.
Incense gets its name from the Latin word “incendere,” which means “to burn” and refers to the substance itself, rather than to the odour that it produces. It is composed of aromatic plant materials, often combined with essential oils. It is used in religious ceremonies, ritual purification, aromatherapy, meditation, for creating a mood, and for masking bad odours. Different types of incense have developed within their underlying cultures, and have also changed with advances in technology and increasing diversity in the reasons for burning it.
Practicing meditation can be extremely beneficial. It is a safe, simple and effective way to balance your physical, emotional, and mental states. Meditating with crystals can bring a new dimension to the practice of meditation.
To get started you will need to choose your crystal. Choosing a crystal with fault lines or patterns within it may help you to ‘lose yourself’ within the crystal while meditating. Before beginning a crystal meditation make sure your have cleansed your crystal.
Crystals come in more shapes than man can count! However, there are a few special “stand-outs” that have caught the commercial (and mystical) eye – and these listed below are the most popular, as well as the most effective:
Pyramids
The very shape of the pyramid is inherently powerful. When crystals are shaped into a pyramid, this allows you to focus your mental, physical, and emotional energies through its apex, or tip. The base of the pyramid provides a very grounding influence. Also, to maximize its focusing power, you may want to program, or “charge” your pyramid crystal to achieve certain goals. Pyramid crystals can also be used to fend off negative energy. Of course, shop at your own discretion, with your instincts fully loaded, but many people like the smoky quartz pyramids (brownish-white, caramel); the clear quartz pyramids, and the snowflake obsidian (black or dark-grey with white patches).
Spring for all of its freshness, wonder and glory brings its own set of problems in the form of allergies, from mild bouts of hay fever and itchy eyes to full-on respiratory attack. Here are some of the things you can do to minimise or alleviate these unpleasant conditions.
Instant reliefcan be at hand at your local pharmacy in the form of antihistamines and eye drops. However I prefer to leave these as a last ditch stand in my quest for relief, but on those days where all else is still not providing relief, they are much better than heavy breathing, sniffling, sneezing and looking like you have been crying all day.
Since early times, incense has been an integral part of worship and ritual in temples, churches, ashrams, and mosques as well as being used in the home to purify and sweeten the atmosphere and remove or neutralize negative energies.
Most of you are familiar with stick incense and cones, but you may never have experienced the pleasures of burning pure resins and chips. So let us encourage you to release these fragrant treasures of nature into your personal environment.
